Gunjan Mhapankar

Dr. Gunjan Mhapankar is a pediatric infectious diseases specialist. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia. She completed medical school at Western University and Pediatrics residency through the University of Ottawa. She went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa.

She also has expertise in travel and tropical medicine and completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the world-renowned Gorgas Memorial Institute of Tropical and Preventive Medicine in Peru.

Her clinical interests are in immigrant and newcomer health, global health and tropical medicine, antimicrobial stewardship, and infections in vulnerable populations and she has worked on healthcare projects in Kenya and South Africa. Outside of work she enjoys being outdoors, travelling, and exploring cuisines and coffee from around the world
