We are so fortunate to have Kristina Tocek join the Kindercare Pediatrics team as our pediatric occupational therapist.  Kristina will begin seeing patients this June.

Kristina is a pediatric occupational therapist who completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Rehabilitation at York University and her Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. She has 12 years of experience working with children and their families. She worked at developmental clinics of The Scarborough Hospital, and for the past 10 years at North York General Hospital. She has provided assessments, consultation and therapy to children with a variety of diagnosis, including autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, developmental coordination disorder, developmental delays and ADHD. The focus of her services were fine and gross motor skills, sensory issues, activities of daily living and printing skills.

In addition, Kristina has been working at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Follow-up Clinic of North York General Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. She has provided assistance with a variety of feeding issues, including feeding assessments, establishing safe feeding of infants and young children, preventing and assisting with feeding aversions and introduction to solids. As part of her role, Kristina also assessed and provided consultations to parents regarding the motor and play development of premature infants for the first 2 years of life.

Kristina is also involved in teaching and mentoring future occupational therapists and maintains a Status-Only Appointment at the University of Toronto.
