Nancy Lerner
B.Ed., M.A.
Nancy holds a Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders and Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University in Chicago and a Bachelor of Education and Principal’s Qualifications from the University of Toronto. Additionally, she has trained and taught within a number of professional organizations.
As an Educational Consultant, Nancy supports parents in decisions about their child’s education from preschool to grade 12. Her philosophy prioritizes a collaborative approach between parents, schools and all professionals involved with the family. This multidisciplinary practice helps to advise parents about school choices, educational planning,( IEP’s), school communication and transition planning for children and teens who require special consideration.
With over 30 years of school leadership and special education expertise, Nancy has consistently supported diverse learners in her work as principal and special education consultant in the Toronto District School Board. Nancy has also served in these capacities in a number of private and parochial schools. She consistently prioritizes her work with parents to ensure that all children develop greater self-confidence, resiliency, and academic success.
Nancy has extensive experience supporting students with Learning Disabilities, ASD, ADHD, Gifted learners, behavioural challenges, Anxiety Disorders, and Executive Functioning issues. Nancy understands the uniqueness of each family and provides tailor-made services. In these challenging times, her guiding principle of addressing the “whole child” is more important than ever.
