It is with very mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Dr. Sydney Leibel this summer. Dr. Leibel is moving back to his home town of San Diego to take a position at the University of California, San Diego. A talented physician, superb colleague, and all-around great guy, Dr. Leibel will be missed by all of us here at Kindercare Pediatrics.

To my patients:
It has been a wonderful three years serving you as your allergist at Kindercare Pediatrics. However, the time has come for my family and I to move back home to California. I am excited to be taking a position at the University of California in San Diego and will be starting August 1st.
Over the next 2-3 months I will be transitioning my patients’ care to my allergist colleague at Kindercare, Dr. Zainab Abdurrahman. With Dr. Abdurrahman, I have no doubt that your child will be provided with the highest level of care. Because Dr. Abdurrahman and I use the same medical record system, I think the transition should go quite smoothly. If you would like to be referred to an Allergist outside the practice, please contact the Kindercare Administration. If you would like to obtain your medical records now or in the future they will be made available upon request through Kindercare Pediatrics. To help with the transition, I am more than happy to see you in follow-up before I leave at the end of July. Alternatively, if there are any questions or concerns I can answer by email, I am happy to do that as well. I have had a really great experience at Kindercare Pediatrics because of my amazing collegues and patients which makes this departure bittersweet indeed.
